6. Add WineHQ Debian 13 Repository
Since we are using Debian 13, add the WineHQ repository for Trixie:
sudo wget -NP /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ \
https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/debian/dists/trixie/winehq-trixie.sources
This allows APT to access the WineHQ packages built for Debian 13.
7. Update Repository
After adding the WineHQ repository, update the package list again:
sudo apt update
Make sure the command completes without repository or GPG errors before continuing.
8. Install Wine Stable
Now install Wine Stable:
sudo apt install --install-recommends -y winehq-stable
The installation may take several minutes because Wine requires additional packages and dependencies.
After the installation is complete, check the installed Wine version:
wine --version
You should see the installed Wine Stable version.
9. Configure Wine
Initialize and configure Wine:
winecfg
The first time Wine is launched, it may create the Wine configuration directory and install additional components.
Wait for the process to finish.
Installing Stardew Valley
Once Wine Stable is installed and configured, you can install the Windows version of Stardew Valley.
Make sure you have a legitimate Stardew Valley Windows installer.
For example, if your installer is named:

and it is located in your Downloads folder, open Terminal and run:
cd ~/Downloads
Then launch the installer:
wine "Stardew Valley.exe"

Running Stardew Valley
After the installation is complete, Stardew Valley can be launched through Wine.
